Eligibility Criteria
- English is the required language.
- All nationalities are eligible.
- The candidate must own a first-class or upper-second-class honors bachelor’s, or the (equivalent) degree. If undergraduate results have not been declared at the time of application, the Council may provide a provisional offer of a scholarship on the condition that the scholar’s bachelor’s, or the equivalent result is a first-class or upper second-class honors. If a scholar fails to possess a first-class or upper second-class honors bachelor’s, or the equivalent, degree, they must own a master’s degree. The Council’s decision on an applicant’s eligibility on these criteria is ultimate.
- Applicants must not be rejected twice for applications to the scheme, plus planned partner themes within the scheme.
- Applicants must be fresher to the degree for which they are applying for Council funding and have been officially accepted by the particular department.
- Applicants applying for a research master’s scholarship, must not have benefitted from Council Postgraduate Scholarship before.
- Applicants applying for a Ph.D. degree scholarship, must not presently be receiving or had previously received, any Council Postgraduate Scholarship except those which would enable them to receive a research master’s degree.
- For category I, applicants must be a national of a member state of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland and have been an inhabitant of an EEA member state or Switzerland for a regular period of 3 to 5 years preceding October 1st.
