Scholarship coverage:

The following advantages are given to recipients of Tianjin Government Scholarships:

Full Scholarship:

  • Registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation fees on campus, laboratory fees, internship fees, and basic learning materials are waived.
  • CNY800 per student per year for comprehensive insurance in China.
  • Living allowance for 10-months: Bachelor’s degree: CNY 1400 per month; Master’s degree: CNY 1700 per month; Doctor’s degree: CNY 2000 per month.
  • For each new student, there is a one-time fee of 800 yuan.

Partial Scholarship:

  • Undergraduate: CNY 20000 each student/year.
  • Master: CNY 30000 each student/year.
  • PH.D.: CNY 38000 /students per year.

 Eligibility Criteria:

The following criteria must be fulfilled to be eligible for the Tianjin Government Scholarship:

  1. English and Chinese are essential languages.
  2. All country’s applicants are eligible.
  3. The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen, under 25 ages.
  4. For bachelor’s degree applicants, a high school diploma is required.
  5. Applicants for a master’s degree must have a bachelor’s degree.
  6. Applicants for a doctoral degree must hold a master’s degree.

How to apply?

Follow these steps to apply:

To apply for the program and scholarship, the applicant must have the following documents:

  1. Two copies of each are needed.
  2. The highest diploma and transcript must be led by translations in Chinese or English.
  3. A Purpose statement (study or research plans, personal backgrounds, financial situations, strengths) in Chinese or English (at least 800 words for master’s or Doctor’s, and 300 words for bachelor’s degree applications).
  4. Professors are required to write two recommendation letters in Chinese or English.
  5. HSK level 4 or above is required for applicants to the Chinese-teaching discipline. Applicants who do not have this or have no knowledge of Chinese apply for two months or one year of scholarship-covered remedial Chinese language study before starting their major studies. Applicants should submit TOEFL (above 87) or IELTS (above 6.0) scores if English is not their native language.
  6. For foreign students having studies periods longer than six months, a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form filled out in English is required. Incomplete records are not valid
  7. Passport photocopy.
