Helmut Schmidt aims to provide a chance to the students and graduates from developing countries to attain a Master’s degree in Germany in fields particularly pertinent to their country’s advancement.
The objective of the Helmut Schmidt Scholarships of the DAAD is to prepare future specialists in the fields of politics, law, economics, and administration. Through this program, DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) goals to assist good governance and civil society structures in particular partner countries and regions.

Eligibility Criteria
The following criteria need to be fulfilled for the Helmut Schmidt Scholarship:
- German language course before arrival in Germany (six months).
- A bachelor’s degree attained with above-average results (top third of promotion) within the period of the last six years.
- Citizens of developing and emerging countries for more than 15 months at the instant of the application deadline.
