Scholarship Coverage

Charles Darwin University Scholarships comprise the following types:

1. Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships (VCIHAS): The scholarship is available to an undergraduate or postgraduate project degree and includes 50% or 25% of the tuition fee for the complete period of the course.
2. CDU Global Excellence Award & CDU Global Leader Award: These scholarships are open for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree waiving 50% of the tuition fee for the first year of study and 10% in the following years.
3. CDU Global Achiever Award: The scholarship is offered for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree and includes 15% of the tuition fee for the first year of the degree.
4. Vocational Education and Training (VET) Distinction Scholarship: The scholarship is specialized to Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification and provides a payment of $3,000 towards your first-year tuition fee.
5. Higher Degree by Research: It contains fully funded scholarships.
6. Northern Territory Scholarships: The scholarships acknowledge students’ academic performance, leadership, and community involvement. These are available for Higher Education – undergraduate and postgraduate ($12,000) and subsidize the student’s tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria

• Compulsory Language: English
• Eligible Countries: All World Countries
• Submit a verified academic excellence record and high accomplishment in previous related studies and qualifications.
• Must fulfill the University’s academic and English entry conditions.
• Carries an offer of admission to the degree at CDU.
• Not receiving any scholarship from an Australian or foreign sponsoring agency.
• Must not be presently an Australian Citizen, and not have an Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizenship.

Conditions of the scholarship for awardees

• Preserve a full-time enrolment of 40 credit points each semester;
• Pay the residual balance of your tuition on or before the start of each semester; the tuition fee scholarship will be accredited directly to your student account up to two weeks later the census date every semester.
• Uphold adequate academic progress each semester in the degree at CDU, with a minimum GPA of 5.3 and with no fail grade in any subject;
• The scholarship is neither exchangeable for cash nor refundable and cannot be transported to another person, course, or year.
• Awardees must be reimbursed for international fees and not domestic fees.
• Not withdraw or  take a leave of absence  from the course of study, without the aforementioned approval of the Office of International Services;
• Awardees must accept the Student of the University By-laws (PDF 9KB)
• Awardees must inform the International Office via email at international@cdu.edu.au of any visa status changes instantly as this may result in the expiry of the scholarship
